Traditional music of Anatolia and nearby geographies
Since the Paleolithic Age, the Anatolian geography has hosted diverse human communities. Anatolia, being the birthplace of many civilizations and Anatolian languages which are the origin of Indo-European languages, also has exposed many empires to each other. Even though the empires ended, common heritage of humanity survive until today.
Simdilik Trio aims to convey this old geography's music to today and future generations, without distorting the traditional texture and by taking one of the principal values of music, dynamism, into consideration. Simdilik Trio brings together makam music instruments the tanbur and the classical kemençe and a euro-genetic instrument, the accordion. Based on the project, various solo and accompaniment instruments are included in Simdilik Trio.
